Because I'm feeling oddly productive today I thought I'd try writing a bit so my brain cells don't die from inactivity. :3

- Pictures not mine!
GSNK translates to Monthly Girls Weekly Nozaki-kun. The premise of the story is that our main female protagonist, Sakura Chiyo, a small high school student, confesses to the boy she likes, only to be given an autograph instead. Indeed, this misunderstanding continues throughout the anime (and manga tbh), as the main male protagonist, Nozaki Umetarou, assumes that Sakura-chan is a fan of his work. Nozaki-kun is tall, and looks cool. However, he is secretly a shoujo manga artist, going by the name of Sakiko Yumeno. Nozaki-kun enlists Sakura-chan's help with his manga work, and recruits her as his beta. The anime also introduces us to other people who help with Nozaki-kun's manga work. Ironically, all of the other helpers (except Sakura-chan) are male.
I liked this anime so much that I immediately went to read the manga LOL. (Tbh, I think I finished the anime in one day, since it was only 12 episodes long). The anime is super hilarious. I feel like it was one of the funniest animes of all time tbh. GSNK is, at heart, I believe a slice of life anime rather than a romance one -- there was little emphasis on the "romance" part of the series, and it seems like it is used as a running gag throughout the show instead.
If you are looking for a nice lighthearted funny anime this is the one for you!!
What I liked about the anime:
The cool side characters
Okay usually shows will focus more on main characters and the supporting cast gets little screentime right? GSNK defies this expectation. It's been a while since I've been attachedand attracted to such awesome side characters. Here's a short intrduction to them!

This ikemen is Mikoshiba Mikoto aka Mikorin :3 Mikorin has this cool and suave image but in reality he's a cute shy tsundere who can't express his feelings properly. Mikorin used to be really bad at communicating with girlsand to a large degree he still but then he 'trained' himself by playing a shitload of dating games. Mikorin strives for the 'princely' and cool image but most of the time he gets embarrassed by the things he says, end up blushing very hard and running away from the girls he has charmed.
Mikorin used to have a rivalry with Kashima Yuu, the resident prince type, but he later gave up the rivalry as he couldn't best Kashima in any aspect. The two are now good friends and #trubros -- despite the fact the Kashima-kun is a girl.
Mikorin is also the inspiration from which Nozaki's manga's heroine character, Mamiko. Mikorin is in charge of drawing flowers.
I totes ship Mikorin with Nozaki-kun's brother eheheehehhehe fight me
This babe is a cinnamon roll too pure for this world btw.

This bae is Hori Masayuki aka Hori-senpai. Hori-senpai is the president of the drama club in school and he is in charge of keeping his precious kouhai Kashima Yuu in line. It is said that he can act really well, and was the one who inspired Kashima to join the club. However, he has since stepped down from acting and is in charge of doing props instead -- possibly because he wants his Kashima to shine on the stage. Hori-senpai does background work in exhange for Nozaki-kun's scripts, and he is always amazed by Nozaki-kun's inability to draw backgrounds in perspective. Hori-senpai has a weirdly cute side to him -- as revealed when we find out the way in which he designates whether an area should be filled in or not; he uses cute drawings instead of the usual x favoured by most.
Also: Hori-senpai is totes in love with Kashima

This precious cinnamon roll is none other than Wakamatsu Hirotaka aka Wakaaka Seo's servant. Waka and Nozaki-kun used to be in the same basketball club in middle school, before Nozaki stopped playing due to fear of injuring his hand, which he needs to draw his manga. Waka still looks up to Nozaki up till now :3 Waka doesn't know until later that Nozaki is a manga artist -- he helps out with screen tones.
The basketball team sometimes enlists Seo's help during trainingto teach the players the importance of teamwork and to be less selfish and this has caused Waka undue stress, resulting in his insomnia. Waka is also somewhat afraid of Seo as a result. However, when he listens to Seo's singing he is instantly lulled to sleep. Yet, he doesn't know that the one behind the singing is Seo, and is under the mistaken impression that Seo can't sing well. Thus, he has expressed his love for "Lorelei" to Seo, without knowing that the are one and the same.
There are also many misunderstandings between Seo and Waka -- in large part due to Waka's use of shoujo manga to solve his somewhat problematic relationship (?) with SeoThey're prolly already dating just that he doesn't know yet

This very handsome dude is actually a girl called Kashima Yuu aka the pain in "Hori-chan-senpai" ass xD Kashima-kun is the prince of the school, as she always flirts with girls and knows exactly what to say to make girls fall in love with her. However, it seems her prowess with girls doesn't extend to herone true love Hori-senpai, as he won't take any shit from her. Also, she always misunderstands Hori-senpai's intentions, which cause her to be hit / scolded by her bae. She also likes to skip classes and club activities, which cause her to get into trouble with Hori-senpai.
Kashima-kun excels in sports and academics and acting, but she falls short of not being able to sing as she is tone-deaf. When Seo tries to teach her to sing, Waka mistakenly thinks that Kashima'sscreeching singing is Seo's and he forms the impression that Seo can't sing.
Kashima and Mikorin are close friends, partly due to Mikorin not thinking of her as a girl xD

This mean looking girl is Yuzuki Seo aka Seo, and she is well known for tormenting students. Seo believes herself to be kind and observant, but she is really very harsh with her words and she can't really read the atmosphereat all.
Seo is really good at sports, to the extent that various clubs have asked her to help out with club activitiesalthough these usually end badly. Seo can sing really well, to the point where she was christened the "Lorelei of the Choir", due to her soothing voice.
Seo treats Waka as her subordinate and always hangs out with him, although he does not know why he always ends up being dragged along with her. Later on, Seo becomes suspicious of why Waka can't always hang out with her, because he helps Nozaki-kun with manga work and guesses that he is being bullied into somethingI think
Hehehe so these are the wonderful side characters in GSNK! They have really made the show much more enjoyable for me & this show has so many cute ships I can't eventhough all of them are prey to misunderstandings
Heh, now I feel like rewatching this series again. Manga updates are slow too so I can't get my fix there either. The chapter on the goukon with Nozaki's brother and Mikorin killed me xD
